On Sunday, February 25th, a group of UB LPP 9th grade students from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts visited SUNY Fredonia. SUNY Fredonia is a comprehensive, selective, public, residential liberal arts university located in Western New York, just minutes from Lake Erie. The trip began with a tour throughout the campus and in some of the academic buildings. Students had the opportunity to see classrooms and workspaces of dancers, actors, and artists who study one of the several performing arts majors featured at SUNY Fredonia. In addition, students attended a performance of Daisy Pulls It Off, a play about a girl from a poor background who is forced to face and overcome snobbish prejudice and schoolgirl pranks from the wealthier girls. The play was performed by current SUNY Fredonia students in the department of theater and dance. The trip was both informative and entertaining, and many students are excited to consider SUNY Fredonia as a choice for their postsecondary endeavors.
