On Friday, February 16th, we discussed the importance of positive self-talk with our 5th graders at Futures Academy. We each made a meaningful craft to remind ourselves that no matter when times are tough or we get down on ourselves, there is always hope and a a silver lining somewhere. Last week the UB LPP Girls Empowerment Group (held at Futures Academy) had our holiday celebration which included eating yummy holiday cookies, sharing out our favorite parts of the late Maya Angelou's poem titled Phenomenal Woman, and creating an amazing, inspiring version of our own take on Phenomenal Woman to hang up inside the school's front hallway!
