I CAN! SUMMER RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM
LIVING ON CAMPUS
Experiencing Dorm and Campus Life
Each I Can! program participant stays on the University at Buffalo North Campus for 3 days and 2 nights at the Ellicott Complex Residence Halls. By staying on campus, students are immersed in the college routine and truly experience what it's like to be a full-time college student.

MOCK COLLEGE COURSES
Taught by University at Buffalo Professors
One of the hallmarks of the I Can! program is our mock college courses, which are taught by UB faculty and staff. Each course introduces students to a different subject and covers material that would be discussed in a 100 level college class. Courses that are taught include Computer Science, African American Studies, Criminal Law, Psychology and more.

CONNECT WITH STUDENT-ATHLETES
Hang with the UB Bulls
Our I Can! program participants also receive the opportunity to spend time with student-athletes during their stay here on campus. They're able to meet and talk with the UB Bulls in an all-access experience, which includes a tour of the team locker or meeting room, play on the court of Alumni Arena and explore UB Stadium. Of course, our scholars are able to ask the student-athletes questions about their roles on campus, balancing sports and school as well as find out what motivates them.

SEL SKILLS WORKSHOPS
Based on 9-Point College Admissions Criteria
Research shows that successful college students come into college with certain soft skills that allow them to navigate the college system and complete their studies. We've selected a few of these Social-Emotional Learning skills from the UB 9-point college admissions criteria to teach our students during I Can! Some of these skills include the ability to navigate a college setting, leadership, goal setting and developing college etiquette.
